Call 410/479-2232 to report...
- If you have been bitten by an animal (have the dog owner's name and phone number available when you call).
- If your dog/cat/ferret bit or scratched someone (have your rabies vaccination information available when you call).
- If your pet was bitten/attacked by another animal (dog, raccoon, etc) (have the animal owner's name and phone number available when you call).
Note: Animal bites are to be reported in the county where the bite occurred.
Clinics are held four times a year; three in the spring and one in the fall. They are usually on a Tuesday evening between 5 and 7 p.m.
Call the hotline at 410/479-2232 in late April to get the spring schedule or late August to get the fall schedule.
Call 410/479-8045 to if you want to preregister your pet/s.
Please be aware that...
- Pets 3 months (12 weeks) or older can receive a rabies vaccination
- Dogs to be on a leash
- Cats and Ferrets to be in a pet carrier/cage or wrapped in towel
- Ferret's rabies vaccination are valid for one year only.
- First shots for dogs and cats are valid for one year
- Proof of previous rabies vaccinations must be provided for dogs and cats for the three-year shots
- Preregisteration is extremely timesaving if you have multiple pets, however, we will pre-register any
number of pets, even one.
There is no official form to bring to the rabies clinic.
Although it is NOT required to pre-register your pet for our clinics, it could save you some time, especially if you plan
to bring 2 or more pets. If you want to preregister your pet(s), please call 410/479-8045 between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
When calling to preregister provide the following information:
- Pet owner's name
- Pet owner's mailing address
- Pet owner's phone number
- Pet's name
- Pet's species (dog, cat, or ferret)
- Pet's sex (male or female) no need to note if spayed or neutered at this time
- Pet's size (Small if under 20 pounds, Large if over 50 pounds, Medium if between 21-49 pounds)
- Pet's predominant breed (like shephered mix, or Pit Bull, etc.)
- Pet's colors
- Pet's rabies vaccination history--proof of previous rabies vaccination will be required for 3 year shots.
