Infants & Toddlers Program

Serving Children- Birth Through Age Three

Are you concerned because your infant/toddler through age three . . .

Is behind in his/her walking, talking, feeding or playing skills?

Does not do things other children his/her age do?

May need special help to learn basic skills?

Or has a doctor diagnosed disability?

 . . . If so, maybe the Caroline County Infants and Toddlers Program can help.

 

What is the Infants & Toddlers Program? An interagency (Health Dept, Dept. of Education, and Dept. of Social Services) program for families with infants and toddlers who may be experiencing a delay in development or who have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of delay.

Who should be referred? A child with a suspected developmental delay, birth through age three, is eligible for screening and assessments to identify early and intervention needs in the areas of:

·     Speech/language

·     Physical Development

·     Cognitive Development

·     Psycho-Social Development

·     Self-Help Skills

 

How much does it cost? The program utilizes a variety of public and private funding sources, but without cost to the family.     

The Infants and Toddlers Program may be able to help by providing . . .

Screening by a team of professionals—Access to appropriate agencies to meet your child’s special needs—A single contact person to help you find the services that best fit your needs—Assistance in meeting the family’s needs   

 

Services include: * Special Instruction * Physical Therapy * Speech/Language Therapy * Audiology * Nursing * Nutrition * Occupational Therapy * Psychological Services * Social Work * Case Management * Medical Services for diagnostic and evaluation purposes * Health services necessary to enable the infant or toddler to benefit from the other early intervention services * Family training, counseling, and home visits * Family education * Respite Care * Transportation * Family Support Network
