Mid-Shore WIC, a local organization providing nutritional support for women, infants, and children, made a significant impact at the Talbot and Dorchester County Health Departments’ Community Baby Showers. The events, held on Saturday, June 10, in Easton, Maryland, and Thursday, June 29, in Cambridge, Maryland, were resounding successes, drawing in new and expectant families eager to learn, connect with community resources, and win valuable baby gear.

A positive rabid cat has been confirmed in the in the vicinity of the 1100 block of Camp Road, Denton.
There are known to be other feral cats in this area, and it is possible that other rabid animals are present. Out of an abundance of caution, avoid contact with any unknown animals in this area. Pet owners in this area should ensure their animals are up to date on their rabies vaccinations.

Xylazine (“tranq” or “zombie drug”) is being mixed with street drugs and a person may not even be aware. It has been increasingly detected in overdose deaths.
