The Caroline County Health Department is now processing birth and death certificates by appointment only on Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays from 8:30–11:30 AM and 1:00–3:00 PM. Walk-ins will be given the next available appointment and may need to wait or return later, depending on availability.

The Caroline County Health Department’s Behavioral Health team was recently awarded the Mid Shore Behavioral Health Caliber Award for Effective Programming at a ceremony that took place on Friday, May 17, 2024.
The Caroline County Health Department resumed issuance of birth and death certificates in person at their offices on May 15, 2023. New hours for issuance of birth and death certificates are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., depending on staffing availability. It is highly recommended that you call (410) 479-8030 prior to coming in to confirm the availability of the service.
Due to the implementation of a new state-wide system, the Caroline County Health Department (CCHD) will not be issuing birth or death certificates from May 1 to May 14. CCHD expects to resume issuance of certificates on May 15. This news post will be updated with the new process, including advanced appointment requirements, when full details are available.
