Environmental Health

Environmental Health is the branch of public health that is charged with monitoring or mitigating factors in the environment that affect human health and the spread of disease. The Environmental Health Division of the Caroline County Health Department is responsible for administering a wide variety of Maryland environmental laws and regulations relating to safe air, water, soil, and food. Our goal is to provide consistent, timely, and useful customer service.

Building codes and permits are handled either by the Caroline County Department of Planning and Codes (for unincorporated areas) or a Town building and codes enforcement office (for those that live within a municipality).
